Air India plans to order 80–100 more widebodies from Airbus or Boeing, expanding to around 300 total aircraft including 200 narrowbodies.
Follows 2023 Tata acquisition with orders for up to 470 aircraft: 250 Airbus, 220 Boeing.
The airline added 10 A350 and A320neo in 2024; 514 firm orders pending including A320s, A321s, A350s, B737s, B777-9s, B787s.
The current fleet consists of 6 A319s, A320s, A321s, 6 A350-900s, B777s, B787s. Air India Express operates A320s, A321s, B737s.
