American Airlines has removed AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points accrual from basic economy fares.
The change applied to tickets purchased from 17 December 2025 onward. The carrier adjusted products to align with market competition. Passengers retained options for higher fare classes earning rewards. The policy affected status qualification for frequent flyers.
