China Southern Airlines has confirmed increased flights to Australian cities starting in 2026. The airline boosts Guangzhou to Sydney services to thrice daily year-round from 30 March 2026, with a fourth daily during Chinese New Year peak. Perth and Adelaide routes convert to year-round operations, while Darwin sees resumed thrice-weekly flights after a six-year break.
The expansions deliver substantial seat growth across routes. Sydney gains nearly 125,000 extra seats with 420 additional return flights, operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Perth expects over 42,000 annual inbound seats from four weekly services in peak periods, and Adelaide operates up to four times weekly from March 2026.
The enhanced connectivity will strengthen links via Guangzhou to major Chinese destinations and beyond. All routes will utilise modern aircraft like the Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 737 Max 8.
Perth Airport chief commercial and aviation officer Kate Holsgrove shared “the decision followed the success of the airline’s seasonal return.”
