The Department of Foreign Affairs has updated travel advice on  Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

As of Friday, 12 April 2024 the Department of Foreign Affairs advises against all but essential travel to Israel, and against all travel to the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), with the exception of East Jerusalem, where we advise against all but essential travel.

A post on the website said: We strongly advise against all travel to the Gaza Strip, and to all areas within 40km of the border. Irish citizens in the Gaza Strip are advised to exercise extreme caution, and register their presence immediately by contacting the Embassy of Ireland using the Online Contact Form.
