Dublin Airport conducted an emergency exercise yesterday from 7pm to 9pm to test responses to potential major incidents.

The drill involves multiple agencies, including Dublin Airport Fire Service, Gardaí, Dublin Fire Brigade, and the National Ambulance Service. Passengers are advised not to be alarmed by blue lights or smoke, as flight operations will remain unaffected.

The exercise, required biannually under regulations, ensures readiness for future emergencies at the airport. The public is reassured that the drill will not impact flight schedules or airport operations.

Dublin Airport shared: “If you’re travelling past Dublin Airport this evening and see lots of blue flashing lights and smoke, don’t be alarmed.”

Graeme McQueen shared: “The exercise will not impact on flight operations and the public should not be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles in operation around the vicinity of Dublin Airport on Wednesday between the hours of 7pm and 9pm.”
