Jamaica tourism sector resumes full operations

The Jamaica Tourist Board confirmed the resumption of full tourism activities across the island following recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa.

Multiple hotels reopened in recent weeks with Sandals Resorts welcoming guests at five properties from 6 December 2025. Half Moon Jamaica scheduled a phased reopening starting 15 December 2025 beginning with Eclipse at Half Moon and renovated villas.

Major attractions regained full functionality while operators reported increased bookings for the festive season. The initiative supported employment and economic recovery in a sector contributing significantly to GDP. Airlines restored schedules to key gateways including Montego Bay and Kingston. Visitors received advisories on available accommodations and transport options.
