Royal Caribbean has dropped Japan from China itineraries amid escalating tensions between the countries.
Royal Caribbean International removed Japan port visits from select Spectrum of the Seas itineraries departing Shanghai in early 2026. Thirteen four- and five-night cruises switched to South Korea destinations including Jeju Island, Busan and Incheon. The changes affected departures between January and April. Seven sailings have retained original Japan itineraries.
The adjustments responded to market conditions and consumer feedback.
