Spirit Airlines will furlough 365 pilots and downgrade 170 more in Q1 2026. Previous furloughs include 330 pilots and 1,800 flight attendants.
Measures align with capacity reduction and smaller fleet under Chapter 11. Savings target USD211m annually. Net losses are forecast at USD804m in 2025 and USD145m in 2026.
Spirit Airlines shared “As part of our ongoing restructuring, we are taking additional steps to align staffing across our organization with our previously announced capacity reduction and smaller operating fleet size.”
