Trip.com Group has released its assessment of the prospects for global travel in 2026 ,highlighting the rising popularity of China and Türkiye among Southeast Asian and European travellers.
Entertainment-driven trips increased with demand for amusement parks concerts and franchise attractions. Nature culture and immersive experiences dominated attraction preferences. Data showed growth in electric car rental bookings following introduction of carbon labels in April 2025 particularly in Norway Australia and Japan.
Average global outbound flights reached 2.4 per traveller in 2025 with flight duration averaging 4.6 hours. Operators anticipated continued digital adoption and sustainability focus.
