
Wizz Air is aiming to double its fleet to 500 aircraft to stay relevant.
József Váradi revealed plans for the carrier to acquire another 300 aircraft over the next 10 years. The low-cost carrier took delivery of its 250th Airbus narrowbody aircraft.
The order book comprised 231 A321-200NX and forty-two A321-200NY(XLR)s. Wizz Air agreed to convert thirty-six XLRs into standard-range variants.
József Váradi shared “We have another 300 aircraft to be taken delivery, […] looking ahead for the next 10 years or so, we need to be a 500-aircraft airline.”
