- AWTE event set for October 26
- Experiment to see how much interest there is in women’s-only body

The Association of Women Travel Executives are organizing a networking event for women travel, tourism and hospitality executives on October 26.
They say this is not a launch event, just for information gathering and some good networking, and it will be held at Dublin Airport Platinum Services.
As one of the countries with the highest percentage of female travel executives we feel that Ireland is an ideal place for the Association of Women Travel Executives. On October 26th 2016 the AWTE will host an event at Dublin Airport, Platinum Services, to share insights with an audience and explore the possibility of a branch of the AWTE operating out of Ireland.
The event at the Dublin Airport’s Platinum Services will consist of a presentation from Debbee Dale followed by an open forum to discuss how the AWTE can best support female travel executives based in Ireland with Networking, development and growing business to business opportunities within the membership.
Founded in 1954, AWTE is a member organisation that provides women in the travel industry with a programme of professional development seminars, workshops and events for business improvement and networking. A not-for-profit organisation, the AWTE is run voluntarily by a board of experienced senior women in the travel sector. In addition to individual membership, AWTE offers Company Membership that welcomes male members.
Lorraine Quinn from Celebrity Cruises said, “As a woman in the industry I feel it would a fantastic opportunity to gain from the AWTE, we often see and hear about their development sessions and networking events, so why not take part and benefit from this ourselves.”
The AWTE Chair Debbee Dale said “The fact that women in Ireland have been so proactive with our involvement tells us that we can help support them and we would be delighted to do so. Sharing, supporting and recognition are our main areas of focus. We would be delighted to take our Association to Ireland and hope there is an appetite to launch with our present board and a group of incredible Irish ambassadors motivated and dedicated to highlight our amazing women in the Industry. We are not launching at this stage, simply sharing what we do and how we can do it with women focused on their own development who could use a great support network. Then we can decide what the best and most beneficial course action from AWTE is and do what we do best – take action! The AWTE will give a short presentation on what we do and find out from those attending how they feel we could work with them to offer our support . We are holding the event at Dublin Airport, at the fantastic Platinum Services, so as well as getting to know about AWTE our participants can find out some more from Dublin Airport and this very special premier service, network and share their ideas, wants and needs with a group of like minded people.
