Termonfeckin set dancing festival attracts international participants

The annual Termonfeckin Set Dancing Festival takes place this weekend at An Grianán in Termonfeckin County Louth. Up to 200 participants are expected from Ireland Scotland England Germany Italy France Corsica the United States and Canada. The event has fully booked An Grianán along with local hotels bed and breakfasts and Airbnb accommodation including Flynn’s. The official opening occurs on Friday evening at 7.30pm with music from young members of Cuchulainn CCE. A donation will be presented to St Finian’s National School for its sensory garden project.

Dancing begins at 9pm on Friday with the Templehouse Céilí Band. A full programme of dancing music and social events continues throughout the weekend. The festival maintains a welcoming atmosphere strong community spirit and international appeal. It celebrates Ireland’s set dancing tradition while promoting Termonfeckin and the wider Louth area for cultural tourism. The event remains a fixture in the traditional music and dance calendar.
