Kindness Heroes Week 2026 has been launched by Dublin City Council. Dublin City Council and the Lord Mayor are inviting

159 schools and clubs to take part with the theme “Doing good does you good – make kindness your superpower.” To launch the initative, the Lord Mayor and Dublin Bus CEO visited schools on a bus tour. Participants received posters, certificates, badges, stickers, charts and activity books.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin Ray McAdam, shared “Kindness Heroes Week has shone a light on the very best of Dublin. Across our schools, young people have shown that kindness is not something small. It is powerful. It brings people in, builds confidence, lifts spirits and strengthens communities. A kind word, a helping hand, or the simple choice to include someone can change a person’s day and, at times, much more than that. What has been so inspiring this week is seeing Dublin’s young people lead with such compassion, imagination and heart. They are showing us the kind of city we want Dublin to be, open, caring and connected. My sincere thanks to every pupil, teacher and school community who made Kindness Heroes Week such a success.”

Billy Hann shared “Dublin Bus is proud to support Dublin City Council’s Kindness Heroes Week and to play a small part in celebrating the positive impact young people have in their schools and communities every day. Kindness helps build stronger, safer and more connected communities, values that are at the heart of Dublin Bus. We are delighted to provide the bus for the Lord Mayor’s school visits and to help bring this important message directly to students across the city.”

Christine Lyons shared “Our young people truly made kindness their superpower this week. From small thoughtful gestures to moments of support for classmates and friends, each act helped create a brighter atmosphere in schools and clubs. It’s encouraging to see how quickly kindness can spread when young people lead the way, and how their actions inspire others to do the same.”
