Countdown to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast

Belfast City Council and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann have confirmed seven new headline acts for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann that takes place from 2 to 9 August 2026. The acts include Tempest Ceol, NxNW, Conor Mallon, TRIP, Peter Street and Mec Lir while Sharon Shannon and her Big Band, Goitse and Blackwater Céilí Band already feature for the opening event. Over 100 children from local schools take part in the School Choir Project for the opening celebration.

The Gig Rig stage outside Belfast City Hall hosts free live performances across the eight days. Events inside Belfast City Hall include the Gradam Inclusion Awards while the Ulster Hall hosts an anniversary concert by Ards CCÉ, the Ceol na Cruinne International Showcase and a performance by the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra. Cathal Hayden receives the Flanagan Award.

Tickets for Comhaltas events go on sale from 1 May via fleadhcheoil.ie.
