Beanotown lands at county Down’s Hillsborough Castle

• Beano Hijinks runs at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens from 27 June to 31 August 2026.
• The trail follows a comic strip story in the 100 acre estate.
• Kids go free to the gardens all summer.
• The trail includes larger than life historical characters.
• A similar trail runs at Hampton Court Palace in London.

Historic Royal Palaces has confirmed the Beano Hijinks trail at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens from 27 June to 31 August 2026. Dennis, Minnie, Harsha, Rubi and Gnasher feature in a time twisting adventure where visitors follow a comic strip story to find six missing components of a go kart time machine hidden in the gardens. Kids go free to the gardens all summer.

After the trail visitors can use the outdoor Imaginary Menagerie, explore the castle with an upgraded ticket or visit the café and shop for Beano inspired treats and merchandise. The trail continues at Hampton Court Palace in London from 25 July to 23 August 2026.
