Kenya Airways has taken back Boeing 777-300ER registration 5Y-KZX from Turkish Airlines. The aircraft returned to Nairobi on 7 July 2026 after lease expiry. It will operate the Nairobi to London Heathrow route from 17 July 2026.
The 400-seater aircraft flies four times weekly on the route and partially replaces Boeing 787-8 services. It performed initial domestic flights to Mombasa between 12 and 16 July 2026. The re-registration process wil take several weeks.
George Kamal shared “It will fly the first few flights from Nairobi to Mombasa from the July 12-16, then London Heathrow from the July 17 onwards.
