Spain handled 54.6m international air passengers in the first six months of 2026, a 5pc rise on the same period in 2025 and an absolute increase of 2.6m arrivals.
In June alone, arrivals neared 11.1m, up 4pc year on year. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas led with 2.2m international passengers in June (up 3.8pc), followed by Barcelona with two million.
Europe accounted for 87pc of arrivals. England remained the top source market with almost 2.6m passengers in June. Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Madrid dominated destinations.
