Los Angeles hosted 560,000 fans across eight FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, generating a projected $892 million in economic impact across Los Angeles County. The tournament is projected to exceed $1 billion in long-term economic benefits. The FIFA Fan Festival and Official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones welcomed over 250,000 fans, and over 300 community events took place across the region.

LA Metro’s Games Enhanced Bus Service provided over 200,000 rides to the stadium during the tournament. Adam Burke, President and CEO of Los Angeles Tourism, stated the tournament demonstrated the power of major sporting events to drive tourism and create economic opportunities. The Original Farmers Market served as an Official Fan Zone, with Ilysha Buss stating it delivered tremendous visibility for small and family-owned businesses.

Los Angeles will host Super Bowl LXI in February 2027 and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games from 14-30 July and 15-27 August. LA28 will use a 100pc existing or temporary venue plan, with 51 sports including flag football, baseball/softball, lacrosse, squash and cricket.
