The Ancient Music Festival, also known as Music in the Forest, continues its 2026 season of open-air performances at Dorlindon Nature Sanctuary in County Wicklow. This weekend’s highlight falls on Saturday 8 August with a concert by Ravensdale, part of a series of intimate afternoon events running from mid-June to mid-August.
Held in a natural forest amphitheatre between 3pm and 5pm, the festival celebrates Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Irish Classical and traditional music in an enchanting woodland setting. Limited capacity (around 130 seated spectators) creates an intimate atmosphere where music and nature meet amid the stillness and beauty of the trees. The programme features outstanding Irish and international musicians performing in a mythical forest environment rich with atmosphere.
Ravensdale’s set draws on Early Medieval influences, presenting original compositions inspired by Slavic and Nordic lore. Sung in Old Norse, Slavic, English and Germanic languages, the performance combines ancient atmosphere, storytelling, rhythm and evocative vocal traditions.
Supported by RTÉ Supporting the Arts and contributing to the Children’s Health Foundation, each concert offers a carefully managed, reflective experience. Tickets are limited and available online only, ensuring the natural surroundings remain protected.
