GTM West offers an opportunity for Tourism Ireland and its partners to connect with influential American travel professionals who have the potential to bring valuable tourists to Ireland. Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, stated that the organisation’s presence at the event provided a platform to highlight the many attractions across the island of Ireland to American travel professionals. The event forms part of Tourism Ireland’s strategy to secure a greater share of US travel business for the island of Ireland in 2026 and beyond.

Tourism Ireland has committed to delivering over 1,000 promotional opportunities for tourism SMEs from across the island of Ireland in 2026, enabling 35,000 commercial meetings between local SMEs and overseas travel trade partners. The programme aims to generate a business pipeline of €300m through these commercial engagements. The United States remains a key source market for Irish tourism, and events such as GTM West help maintain Ireland’s visibility among American travel advisors.
