Tourism Ireland has supported the production of a new Channel 4 travel series, Sandi’s Ireland: A Literary Journey, co-produced by Tourism Ireland and Cornelia Street Productions. The series began airing in Britain on Channel 4 and More4 on 3 September, with broadcaster, author and comedian Sandi Toksvig exploring the landscapes, places and people that inspired Ireland’s greatest writers, poets and storytellers.
Dublin, Sligo, Edgeworthstown, Monaghan, Belfast and Bellaghy feature in the series, with Sandi meeting contemporary writers, poets and performers to explore how the island of Ireland’s rich storytelling traditions continue to thrive and evolve today. The series showcases spectacular scenery and insights into the places that helped shape some of the world’s most celebrated literary voices.
Publicity and broadcasts like this form a key element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity to inspire travellers in Britain and elsewhere around the world to put the island of Ireland on their holiday wish-list. Overseas tourism delivered over €6.4 billion to the island of Ireland in 2025.
