Air Canada and Shannon Airport have announced a new non-stop service between Shannon and Toronto, providing the only direct connection between Shannon and Canada. The summer seasonal three-times-weekly service launches on 10 June 2027 and operates until 3 October 2027.
The service operates three times weekly between Shannon Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport, departing Shannon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Air Canada operates the route using its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, featuring Signature Class with lie-flat seats and Economy Class seating. Through Air Canada’s Toronto global hub, passengers connect to over 150 destinations across Canada, the United States, Mexico, South America and beyond. European travellers connecting to the United States via Canada take advantage of U.S. Customs and immigration preclearance rules in Toronto, enabling them to arrive in the U.S. as domestic passengers.
The route strengthens economic ties between Ireland and Canada, supporting business, trade and investment. The service opens the door to Canadian visitors and drives tourism growth across the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and destinations nationwide. Previous Shannon-Toronto routes have not been sustained. They were operated by Air Canada in 2003, Flyglobespan in 2006, Air Transat in 2007 and 2014 and then Air Canada again in 2018 using a Boeing B737 MAX 8..
