Fáilte Ireland launches national accessible and inclusive tourism consultation ‘Your Voice, Your Journey’
Minister for Tourism Peter Burke TD has launched Fáilte Ireland’s national consultation on Accessible and Inclusive Tourism, named ‘Your Voice, Your Journey Visitor Consultation’. The initiative invites people across Ireland to share their experiences of accessible and inclusive tourism and help inform the future development of tourism across the country. The consultation gathers insights across trip planning, transport, accommodation, attractions and visitor experiences.
The primary goal identifies barriers, opportunities and priorities to ensure everyone can enjoy Irish visitor experiences with dignity, independence and equal opportunity. The framework aligns with the government’s broader tourism policy, ‘A New Era for Irish Tourism’, which aims to develop a welcoming environment for all communities. The consultation process has been co-designed alongside national advocacy organisations representing disability, age-friendly, inclusion and sensory impairment interests.
The consultation uses a national accessible survey and focus groups, remaining open until 29 October 2026 and available in multiple accessible formats. The co-design approach incorporates firsthand perspectives into decision-making, with advocacy groups noting the importance of including lived experience in tourism policy development.
