Boeing has booked 15 gross and net new orders in August 2026, experiencing a 2.5-fold decrease from the prior month. This marked the company’s slowest order month of the year, primarily trailing its European rival Airbus, which secured 67 gross orders in the same period. All 15 orders in August were from unidentified customers. The order book was heavily weighted toward widebody jets, containing 13 787 Dreamliners including eleven 787-9s and two 787-10s and only two 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft.

Of the 51 planes delivered to customers, 41 were 737 MAX jets. Major domestic recipients included Southwest Airlines with 9 aircraft and United Airlines with 8 aircraft. The rest included four 787s, two 777 Freighters, three 767s and one military 737 NG. Because deliveries outpaced new incoming volume, Boeing’s total commercial backlog contracted slightly from 6,192 at the end of July to 6,156 jets by the close of August.

Despite a relatively quiet August for sales, Boeing’s 418 year-to-date deliveries represented its highest output at this stage of the calendar year since 2018. Year-to-date gross orders reached 498 jets while net orders reached 444 jets.
