The 2027 National Ploughing Championships will be hosted at Boherkill Farm in Rathangan, County Kildare. The National Ploughing Association revealed the new venue from the grandstand as the 2026 event wrapped up in Screggan, County Offaly. The event will take place from 21 to 23 September 2027.
The championships are moving back by one week later than usual to prevent a scheduling clash with the Ryder Cup which is being held at Adare Manor in County Limerick from 13 to 19 September 2027. 75,000 people attended the final day of the 2026 event in Screggan with 243,000 visitors through the gates across the three days.
The total attendance for championships which is Europe’s largest outdoor event was up by around 18,000 on last year.
