The Irish Landmark Trust has highlighted its cosy season escapes following successful European Heritage Open Days on 13 September at each of its six counties properties. Nearly 1,000 guests visited seven properties at nine iconic sites in the six counties while over 500 events took place across the entire region. At St. John’s Point Lightkeepers Houses the Shimna Wheelers from Newcastle were hosted along with Aodhan the attendant keeper and Kieran and his brother who lived there when their father was a lightkeeper stationed at St. John’s.
Some properties still have gaps for next weekend with 15 pc off for late availability. Inchiquin House in Corofin County Clare sleeps 10 and permits two dogs with prices reduced from €1,870 to €1,589.50. Castletown Gate House in Celbridge County Kildare sleeps three and permits two dogs with prices reduced from €550 to €467.50. St. John’s Point Clipper in Duninkeely County Donegal sleeps four and prices reduced from €682 to €579.70.
As October rolls in things begin to quieten down and these properties have availability including Galley Head Lightkeepers Houses in West Cork from €510, John’s Point in County Down from £390, Drum Gatelodge in Bushmills County Antrim from £346, Salterbridge Gatelodge in Cappoquin County Waterford from €364, Railway Crossing Cottage near Donegal Town from €336 and Killee Cottage in Mitchelstown County Cork from €336.
