Representatives from Dingle Peninsula Tourism, Kerry County Council and the Irish Consulate General recently attended the Big E State Fair in West Springfield Massachusetts from Friday, September 18, through Sunday, October 4, 2026,.

The delegation travelled to the annual Eastern States Exposition to celebrate the region’s sister-city ties with West Springfield, promote local enterprise and support West Kerry craftspeople and artisans exhibiting at the Dingle Peninsula Pavilion. The appearance marked Kerry’s 27th year at the event.

The visit centred around the Dingle Peninsula Showcase housed in the fair’s Young Building. This ongoing cultural exchange celebrates the official Sister City relationship between Dingle and West Springfield. Key highlights included a multi-chamber networking event hosted at West Springfield Town Hall and Meet the Makers sessions at the Irish Pavilion featuring creators showcasing traditional Irish crystal, jewellery, pottery and spirits.

Delegates met with Irish Consul General in Boston Síghle FitzGerald and local civic leaders to strengthen economic and cultural exchanges. The Irish Cultural Center hosted a celebratory evening marking the launch of the showcase, highlighting the deep heritage links between Western Massachusetts and County Kerry, where many local Irish-Americans trace their ancestry.
