The data, released on 28 September 2026 and shared with politicians at the Labour Party conference, also indicates that international travel supports 1.4m jobs across England. In the North West, outbound travel contributes £6.4bn and inbound travel £3.5bn, supporting 98,000 and 57,000 jobs respectively. ABTA and UKinbound stressed that inbound and outbound travel are interdependent, sharing infrastructure such as ports and airports and helping maintain flight route viability.
