The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has appointed Jackson Alexander Weech as Director General effective 1 October 2026. Weech has brought more than 35 years of tourism and hospitality experience across The Bahamas, the Caribbean and Britain and Ireland to the role. He has held senior leadership roles across the hotel and tourism industry.
Weech served as President of the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association since December 2024. He most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of The Royal Towers at Atlantis Paradise Island. His career included serving as Vice President of Hotel Operations at Atlantis Paradise Island and Hotel Manager at Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandals Negril. He held the position of General Manager of SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas for 15 years.
Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Tourism, shared that Jackson Weech brings a depth of tourism industry experience that will be invaluable as the ministry continues to strengthen the sector. Weech shared that he is honoured to have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as Director General. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management from Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland.
