The African Travel and Tourism Association has appointed Taqi Moledina as its new Chair beginning a two-year term from 1 October 2026. Moledina has brought nearly 25 years of leadership within African tourism and family roots in East Africa stretching back more than a century. He has worked alongside ATTA CEO Virginia Messina and the Board of Directors.
Moledina has spent almost 25 years with ARP Africa Travel Group, rising through the business to become CEO and Chair. He has developed relationships across Africa and key international source markets. His appointment has come as ATTA begins a new chapter in its more than 30-year history with a renewed strategy focused on strengthening its international network.
James Haigh, outgoing Chair of ATTA, shared that he is delighted to be handing over the chairmanship to Taqi and that he knows the depth of his experience and passion for Africa. Taqi Moledina shared that he would like to thank James for his committed leadership and stewardship of ATTA during an important period for the Association. Virginia Messina shared Taqi’s deep understanding and connection to Africa combined with his decades of commercial industry experience will be critical as ATTA continues to move into its next chapter.
