Australian and New Zealand Travel agents explore Ireland

Eight travel agents from Australia and New Zealand have visited Ireland as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and TourismNI. The visit has aimed to familiarise the agents with tourism offerings across the island. The itinerary has included experiences in the six counties and the Republic of Ireland.

The group began in Antrim where they visited Game of Thrones Studio Tour, enjoyed a Belfast food tour with Taste & Tour and visited Titanic Belfast, The Gobbins Cliff Path and the Giant’s Causeway. In County Fermanagh, activities included an Erne Water Taxi tour, visits to Boatyard Distillery and Lough Erne Resort and a walk along the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail. The group then travelled to Mayo for a Westport Food Tour before continuing to Galway.

In Galway, the agents visited DK Connemara Oysters, Kylemore Abbey, Ballynahinch Castle and The Hawthorn by Galway Bay. Other experiences included Galway’s Stroll to the Stout tour and clay pigeon shooting at Ashford Castle. The journey concluded with a baking experience at Margaret’s Kitchen near Roscommon town before a final stop in Dublin where the agents visited EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum.

Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, shared “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of Australian and New Zealand travel agents to visit Ireland, to experience first-hand some of our superb tourism offering. Seeing really is believing – our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”
