Center Parcs has said a small number of jobs may be at risk at its resort in Ballymahon, County Longford. The company stated it has begun a review of some of its structures to make sure they remain right for the business today and for the future. The company stated that this means a small number of roles may be at risk of redundancy. The company has not revealed how many jobs are at risk, however it is understood that around 20 roles could be impacted but that affected staff may be offered redeployment opportunities.
Center Parcs opened its 400-acre Longford Forest resort in July 2019 and currently employs around 1,300 people. The company stated it recognises the significant impact this uncertainty can have on colleagues and their families, and it is committed to supporting everyone affected with care and respect throughout the consultation process. The Department of Enterprise received a notification of proposed collective redundancies from Center Parcs Ireland on 5 October.
