Loganair ‘no longer on sale’ as no buyer could be found

Loganair owners, Stephen and Peter Bond, say the airline is not for sale after all. After announcing their intention to sell in October 2022, the absence of a buyer has led them to remain as owners of the company for the foreseeable future.

The Bond brothers maintain that Loganair continues to trade profitably and debt-free. They are also expecting to complete their fleet renewal by the first quarter of 2024, with the final four Saab 340 turboprop aircraft leaving the fleet due to delayed delivery of larger ATR72-600 Next Generation turboprops.

The airline flies routes

  • from Belfast City airport to Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Benbecula, Dundee, Inverness, Norwich, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Sumburgh, and Teesside ,
  • from Derry to Glasgow, Liverpool and Heathrow,
  • from Donegal to Glasgow,
  • from Dublin to Aberdeen and Inverness

Loganair has commenced a refurbishment program for its 13 Embraer 145 aircraft, which will be completed within the next year.

Stephen and Peter Bond stated that the suspension of the sale process will allow the company to focus on completing the re-fleet program and addressing supply chain challenges. They emphasized that there is no time-bound reason for the sale and they will remain committed to the company until the right time and custodian to acquire the company is chosen.

Loganair recently extended its codeshare partnership with British Airways, introducing 11 new routes, including destinations such as Aberdeen to Newcastle, Belfast City to Dundee, London Heathrow to Dundee, and Southampton to Stornoway.
