The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival has added an extra date this year due, organisers say, to its popularity and the tremendous turnout of over 100,000 people last year.

Festival Director Mark Murphy said that this year’s event is selling out faster than ever before, showcasing the abundance of talent both coming to and originating from Cork. This success builds upon the previous year’s festival, which broke attendance records.

Additional acts to the lineup for this year’s festival in Cork City over the October Bank Holiday Weekend (October 26 – October 30, 2023), include performances by OXN, Fizzy Orange, Mas Exodus-Negro Impacto, and JarJarJr. However, it should be noted that the headline shows by Macy Gray, Morcheeba, and The Pharcyde & Souls of Mischief have already sold out.

Throughout the weekend, there will be must-visit venues such as Live at St Luke’s, The Everyman, Triskel, Cork Opera House, Cork City Hall, The Metropole Hotel, and the vibrant streets of Cork City itself. In addition, festival-goers can enjoy the Guinness Music Trail, which features over 73 venues across Cork City, Douglas, and Kinsale.

Aside from the main performances, there will also be pop-up events, late-night parties, and collaborative performances.

Now in its 45th year, the festival promises a diverse range of performances, with international jazz artists, talented Irish musicians, and emerging acts all taking part. The event now spans five days.
