Some 173 industry companies and 45 airlines have gathered for the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) General Assembly in Innsbruck.
The agenda includes conference sessions, an exhibition environment, and a glamorous awards dinner, with Issues like skill shortages likely to dominate the agenda.
ASL Ireland, Cityjet, Emerald Airlines, Hibernian Airlines, and Shannon airport are among the membership of the European Regions Airline Association, which has 55 member airlines and approximately 150 other companies involved in European air transport.
Marco Pernetta, Managing Director, Innsbruck Airport, who opened the conference with a welcome address, said: “The Tyrol region occupies a central role in Austria’s tourism industry, generating an impressive gross value of approximately €4.8bn during the 2021–2022 tourism season, thereby ranking it first in the country for tourism revenue. In addition to mostly incoming tourist traffic, with around half a million passengers in the first quarter of a calendar year only, the airport represents an important destination for commercial and industrial enterprises, as well as congress tourism and the university sector; and we look forward to this week welcoming high-profile delegates from across the European aviation industry to our region.”
Montserrat Barriga, Director General, ERA said: “The one element of our ERA General Assembly that has never changed is the gathering of members in one location as one ERA family. In a time when industry collaboration is more important than ever, this industry event continues to reinforce the association’s ethos that the power of one collective voice, representing multiple businesses, to promote and protect one industry sector, is incredibly strong. I am excited to this year welcome so many high-profile delegates to the breathtaking city of Innsbruck and look forward to seeing members both strengthen existing business relationships and build rewarding new ones.”
