Ruth Andrews has been appointed as the new Chairperson of Fáilte Ireland by Minister Catherine Martin.

Minister Martin congratulated Ruth on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to lead Fáilte Ireland during a crucial time for the recovery and sustainable development of Irish tourism.

Ruth Andrews is chair of ITIC and of the inbound tour operators body, and has over 35 years of experience in the tourism industry, including working in hotel chains, running her own consultancy, and serving in leadership roles in various tourism associations.

The appointment of Ruth Andrews follows a public application process managed by the Public Appointments Service.

Ruth Andrews’ term as Chairperson of Fáilte Ireland will be for five years, during which she will contribute to optimising the economic, social, cultural, and environmental impact of tourism in Ireland.
