Swissport has opened a 400 sq. m. temperature-controlled warehouse at Dublin Airport, the first of its size at the airport.
The new facility is dedicated to pharmaceuticals and can hold up to 200 palettes.
Swissport’s expansion provides handling capacity for major pharmaceutical suppliers in the region and supports Ireland’s position as a significant exporter of medicinal and pharmaceutical products within the EU.
The cold storeroom consistently operates between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius and minimizes environmental impact through the use of propane gas for cooling, which has a low global warming potential.
In addition to the primary storage area, there is an additional unit at the warehouse capable of operating between two to eight degrees.
Swissport at Dublin Airport offers ground handling and air cargo services to over 45 airline customers, serving 5 million passengers and handling 44,000 tons of cargo annually, supported by 700 employees.
