Wicklow Naturally “Festival of Food” held at BrookLodge, Macreddin Village, focusedon sustainable eating and drinking, and aimed to showcase food and drink producers and providers who prioritize sustainability.
Discussion panels were organized on various topics, such as sustainable tourism in the Garden County, biodiversity, and the fusion of tradition and innovation in food. Notable participants included JP McMahon, Darina Allen, and Hermione Winters.
The festival featured a producer’s market, talks and demonstrations on foraging and beekeeping, live music, whiskey masterclasses, wine tastings, and an abundance of delicious food and drink.
This festival was part of the larger “OctoberFeast” series of events, which included a Harvest Festival and events at Hens Teeth in Dublin 8, aiming to bring the culinary experiences of the Garden County to a broader audience.
The festival received support from Wicklow Naturally’s Board, Wicklow County Council, and The Department of Food, Agriculture and the Marine. The goal of these events is to celebrate and promote the food and drink producers in County Wicklow.
