
In-bound tourism statistics for August in Ireland show those visiting Ireland spent an average of €1,351 on their trips.
The total estimated expenditure of foreign overnight visitors in Ireland was €996.1m, and they stayed for a total of 7,337,700 nights.
The average duration of their visit was 9.9 nights, with the primary reason being holiday or leisure purposes (47.2pc).
The majority of visitors stayed in hotels (40.3pc) compared to other accommodation types.
Average spend was €356 on fare, €62 on prepayments, €428 on accommodation, and €505 on day-to-day expenditure.
In August, 35pc of overnight visitors leaving Ireland were from Britain, 19pc were from the United States, and 8pc were from France.
