
Sustainability was a prominent and recurring theme throughout the second edition of the Irish Business and General Aviation Association’s annual conference in Adare on Wednesday November 1. The industry’s goal is to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050, and the conference showcased the progress made so far in tackling this complex issue.
Panel discussions included representatives from 4Air, NBAA, Neste, and Luxaviation Group, discussed topics such as carbon offsetting, book and claim, and the increased use of SAF.
Over 140 delegates heard Minister Jack Chambers deliver the opening keynote. Declan Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive of the Irish Aviation Authority, also spoke at the event.
Charles Etter of main sponsors Gulfstream chaired a session on navigating aviation’s path to efficiency and sustainability. Other speakers in this session include industry experts from the National Business Aviation Association, Neste, and Luxaviation Group.
One session focused on innovations and trends in air charter, discussing options such as on-demand air charter, pre-paid fractional ownership, and jet cards. Panelists includes experts from Private Jet Comparisons, Hunt & Palmer, Priester Aviation / Mayo aviation, and Fly Victor.
Jetcraft’s Colin Dunne provided an industry update, shedding light on the current state of the business aviation industry.
The event featured speakers from other aviation associations, including the European Business Aviation Association and the Middle East Business Aviation Association.
A panel session discussed how business aviation can learn from other industries, led by Corporate Jet Investor and featuring Graham Williamson from ACASS. Another panel focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on aviation, led by technology entrepreneur and aviation consultant Diego Magrini.
IBGAA’s Chair, Josh Stewart, discussed opportunities for business aviation in Ireland and the benefits of establishing a business in the country. A case study from Alliance Group, presented by Dave Scully, will showcase the potential of business aviation.
