Turkiye’s SunExpress has placed a firm order for forty-five Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2023, with options for an additional 45 aircraft.
The order includes twenty-eight Boeing 737-8s and seventeen Boeing 737-10s, with the options not assigned to a specific variant.
SunExpress plans to double its fleet over the next decade, aiming to reach a 150-aircraft fleet by 2033. The addition of the B737-10 will further strengthen its capacity.

This new order is in addition to the previous commitments made in 2014-2015, when SunExpress ordered forty-two B737-8s. Delivery of nine aircraft has already taken place, while thirty-three are still outstanding. The airline has also leased two B737-8s from 777 Partners. Currently, SunExpress operates a fleet of fifty B737-800s.
With this new order, SunExpress aims to expand its network with a more fuel-efficient and environmentally sustainable aircraft fleet, filling its unofficial role as Turkiye’s tourism ambassador for sun routes.
SunExpress is represented in the Irish market by Jens Bachmann. The airline plans to increase its Dublin services to Izmir daily and Antalya to 3w in summer 2024.
