
United Airlines and the Houston Airport System are to construct 40 new gates at George Bush Intercontinental Airport for domestic and international travel catering for an estimated 36m passengers.
The project will feature expanded curbside and roadway capacity, an expanded ticketing lobby, a streamlined security processing area, and two new passenger concourses.
There will also be amenities such as a sensory room, a multimedia interactive park, comfort zones for passengers with disabilities, and state-of-the-art food and retail spaces. The baggage claim hall will also be expanded, and a new baggage handling system will be implemented.
