A new four-day mountain biking festival has been announced to take place in Ballinastoe, Roundwood, next May. It will feature competitions, demonstrations, fun events, and activities for all ages.

The festival will kick off with a ‘whip off’ showcasing skilled riders performing jumps. It will also feature an Enduro format competition

Planning permission has been granted for a substantial new building, bike hiring facilities, and a café at Ballinastoe, which offers a 16km trail system and is recognised as one of the world’s leading mountain biking destinations.

Coillte CGA, the owner of the site, submitted plans for significant upgrades to Wicklow County Council. These enhancements will include a mountain bike trailhead building, café, bike hire facility, toilets, car park, wastewater treatment system, bike wash area, and landscaping improvements.
