Flybig, a regional carrier in India, has suspended its flights, prompting lessors to reclaim their aircraft.
Avation already had an ATR72-500 (VT-FBA (msn 955) returned in October, by mutual agreement’ having not used it for revenue flights since late August. Flybig say flight suspensions have occurred because their remaining aircraft went out of service for maintenance purposes.
Flybig’s remaining aircraft, including two ATR72-600s and two DHC-6-400s, are being repossessed by Indian lessor VMAN Aero Services due to contractual defaults.
The airline flew to 11 domestic destinations and plans to resume services in January 2024 after addressing the issues it has faced.
