The privatisation process of ITA Airway, has been delayed until early December.

Documents were to be submitted by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and German management by November. The dossier includes Lufthansa’s offer to purchase 41pc of ITA Airways

The evaluation team led by European Commissioner for Competition, Didier Reynders, aims to complete the analysis of the ITA-Lufthansa dossier by early January, according to the most optimistic scenario.

There is a possibility that the assessment may take longer, and the most pessimistic estimations suggest that the completion of the analysis might be delayed until the first two months of 2024. This would mean a timeframe of over six months since the agreement was signed in Rome.

The exact timeline for completion remains uncertain, with different estimates suggesting completion between early January and early 2024.
