Air France has expanded its Train + Air service, which offers single reservation train and flight journeys, to a total of 41 routes.
The service has been available for nearly 30 years, primarily between Paris CDG and Orly via Massy TGV station, and selected regional French rail stations.
In 2021, seven new routes were added, and now an additional eight routes have been included in the latest expansion.
The Train + Air service now covers 22 French rail stations, including Aix-en-Provence, Arras, Laval, Lille Flandres, Perpignan, and others.
Benefits of the service include guaranteed seat availability on the next available flight or train in case of delays and first-class seats on SNCF trains for La Premiere or business class passengers.
Air France has also enabled online check-in for the entire journey, including the train section.
This expansion reflects a trend among various airlines to increase rail-air services, driven by environmental concerns and a preference for train travel over short domestic flights.
