Waterford’s Christmas light trail, switched on this weekend, illuminating the city’s buildings and medieval walls at 19 strategic locations across four main areas of the city: the Viking Triangle, Apple Market, City walls beyond, retail spine, and Cultural Quarter.

The project aims to extend visitor stays into the evening, enhance the city’s beauty and ambiance, and encourage exploration of Waterford’s unique charm after dark.

The initiative seeks to strengthen Waterford’s position as a tourist destination by creating a trail of light that connects significant historic attractions and city zones.

The project is funded by Fáilte Ireland’s urban animation investment scheme.
