Meath County Council’s proposals for the greenway along the River Boyne and the restoration of the Boyne Navigation is entering the public consultation phase.
The proposals include a Greenway Scheme extending from Navan Town to Oldbridge Estate in Drogheda and a Navigation Restoration Scheme from Oldbridge Guard Lock to the Canal Harbour in Navan.
AtkinsRéalis Ireland is working with Meath County Council to develop route options and select an Emerging Preferred Route for the Greenway Scheme.
The Navigation Restoration Scheme will be considered separately from the Greenway Scheme, following a feasibility study and a review of route options.
These projects aim to enhance the community, connect significant visitor attractions, and create a lasting legacy. The public consultation period for feedback and comments is from December 11, 2023, to January 29, 2024, through various channels such as the Greenway Website and Meath County Council’s consultation portal. Submissions can be made via email, post, or the consultation portal until February 9, 2024.
