Heathrow Airport plans to build a new dedicated baggage system at its Terminal 2, used by Aer Lingus, replacing the old system currently housed in Terminal 1.

BEUMER Group has been selected to deliver the six-year project, capable of handling 31,000 bags per day when complete.

The decision will allow Heathrow to demolish what remains of T1, (formerly used by Aer Lingus) and enable the airport to move forward with what it is calling its “new vision for the ‘heart of Heathrow.’”
