International flights to and from Keflavík Airport are unaffected by eruptions on the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Blue Lagoon hotel reopened just a week ago and was evacuated earlier. “We have evacuated all our activity areas. It went very well,” says Helga Árnadóttir, manager of sales, operations and services at the attraction.
Flight operations at Keflavík Airport continue as usual, according to Guðjón Helgason, Isavia’s press officer.
A small no-fly zone was initially established around the volcano, but it was quickly lifted as there is no ash present in the current eruption.
However, he encourages people to monitor arrivals and departures on the airport’s website.
